How it works

Every word goes to the viewer who finds it first.

Words run across, down or diagonally. One comment can find several of them, and a find early in the round scores up to 10 points, a late one as little as 1. The round ends when its timer runs out or every word is found.

How do viewers play a live word search?

They look for the hidden words in the grid on your stream and type each one they find in the live chat on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or Instagram. Capital letters make no difference, and the word can sit inside a longer comment. The first viewer to type a word gets it.

How are points counted?

A word found early in the round scores up to 10 points, and one found late scores as little as 1. One comment can find several words. The leaderboard adds up each viewer's points over every round.

How are the winners chosen?

You choose from 1 to 20 winners, picked by points or at random among the viewers who found at least one word. You can leave your team out by typing their names.

Can I use my own words?

Yes. Type them, pick them from our lists, or import them from an .xlsx spreadsheet with one column for each round. A word is at least 3 letters long and no longer than the grid is wide.

Can I run a word search in another language?

You can type words in any language. The letters that fill the rest of the grid are English letters, plus the letters your words use, so a word in another alphabet is easier to spot than an English one.

Can I run a word search without a host?

Yes. The timers move the game from the start screen through every round to the final results, and our servers send the stream, so your computer can be off. After the final results, the stream can end by itself or switch to the next scene.

Can I use it with OBS, vMix or StreamYard?

Yes, with Plugin Mode, which adds the game to your scene as a browser source for a live stream on YouTube or a Facebook page. It is on some paid plans and not on the free one, and the pricing page lists which.

Can viewers see the leaderboard?

Yes. Every game has a public leaderboard page that needs no login. Share its link in the chat during the stream or after it.

How do I contact the winners?

The winners are listed on the Broadcasts page in LiveReacting. On YouTube, which has no way to message a viewer, share the claim link: the winner signs in with YouTube and leaves an email address.

Is the word search on the free plan?

Yes. The word search is on every plan. The free plan streams to one channel at a time, for up to 30 minutes a stream, with the LiveReacting logo in the corner, and has no Plugin Mode. The pricing page lists what the other plans add.
