      Drag your camera anywhere on the screen, as a circle or a rounded square, in three sizes. Mirror it, or hide it for a moment. It is part of the video you save.

    • Controls on top of your work

      In Chrome and Edge, when you record a tab or a window, the timer, Pause, Restart and Stop sit in a small window above everything else.

    • A copy that outlasts a crash

      While you record, the page keeps a copy in your browser. If the tab closes or the browser crashes, open the page again to get the recording back, up to its last few seconds.

    • Microphone and computer sound

      A level meter shows your microphone works before you start, and Mute works mid-take. Chrome and Edge also record a tab's sound.

    • Restart, pause and trim

      Restart a bad start without sharing your screen again, pause while you open the next file, and cut the start and the end before you save.

    • MP4, saved on your computer

      Chrome, Edge and Safari save an MP4 file up to 1440p; Firefox saves WebM. The video is made in your browser and never uploaded.

    Is the screen recorder free?

    Yes. There is no account to create, no watermark and no time limit. The recording is kept in your browser until you save it, so a long one needs free memory and disk space on your computer.

    Is my recording uploaded?

    No. Your screen, your camera and your sound are recorded in your browser, and the file is saved to your computer. While you record, the page keeps a copy in your browser's storage on this computer, and deletes it when you save the file or start a new recording.

    How do I record my screen with sound?

    Pick your microphone, and turn on Computer sound. In the browser's sharing window, pick a tab and turn on tab audio. Chrome and Edge on Windows, and Chrome on macOS 14.2 or later, can also share the sound of the whole screen; Firefox and Safari share no computer sound.

    How do I record my screen and my webcam at the same time?

    Choose Screen and camera, pick your camera, and share your screen. Your camera shows in a bubble you can drag, resize and make round or square, and it is saved in the video. To check the camera and the microphone first, use the webcam test and the mic test.

    Can I record my screen on a phone?

    No. Phone browsers do not let a web page capture the screen, so on a phone this page records your camera only. To record a phone's screen, use the screen recorder built into the phone.

    How do I trim a screen recording?

    Drag the two handles on the bar under the preview to the start and the end of the part you want, and press Trim. The page plays that part once to save it, so trimming takes as long as the part you keep.

    What happens if my browser crashes during a recording?

    The page writes the recording to your browser's storage as you record, so when you open this page again in the same browser, it offers the recording up to its last few seconds. This does not work in a private window, which deletes its storage when it closes, or when the computer's disk is full.
